We went on a walking tour of Porto, at the suggestion of a woman we have met along the way. We went to the Soares dos Reis National Museum to view a specific exhibit, and we enjoyed it! We had lunch at a small cafe along the Douro River front. We crossed the river and took a tour of the Ferreira Port lodge. We love Porto! It is teaming with activity. There are a lot of young people, a lot of construction, it is brightly colored, and at the same time, it is gritty, with clothes hanging off balconies, centuries of grime in the cobblestones sidewalks, and graffiti here and there. Mostly, people are happy!
