Alcacer do Sal, Portugal

Papa and I got up early this morning to have churros and cafe con leche for breakfast in Seville.  It was a typical Spanish breakfast in a century + old cafe.  We left Seville soon after breakfast, on a flight to Lisbon, Portugal.  We arrived at noon, rented a car, and made our way south.

We are staying in a castle, http://www.pousadas.pt/en/hotel/pousada-alcacer.  The castle has cloisters, as part of it was used as a convent in the early 1200's, plus ancient walls, a chapel, a tower, Roman ruins...  It is beautiful and we are quite happy in Alcacer.  Soon after arriving, we walked down the steep stone street to the village, where we visited the church.  The steeple tower was covered with nesting storks, coming and going.  The interior of the church was covered in blue and white azulejos. We walked along the village river front as the sun had just set.  It was a perfect evening!
