The quinceanera weekend in Doctor Mora was filled with parties! On Saturday morning, the day of the quinceanera, there was a 7 a.m. surprise serenade. We gathered on the street near Gloria and Cirilo's house, then followed the musicians into the courtyard to wake up Sabrina. We had
breakfast of homemade tamales, Mexican hot chocolate, and fresh pastries.
The "after" party was at noon the day after the quinceanera. It was at Beatriz house, where we stayed. Beatriz was up very early, grilling chickens. Tents were set up and the band arrived. More music! Unfortunately, we had to leave before the party got going, but we had a terrific lunch of grilled chicken and jalapenos on fresh tortillas. We said goodbyes with regret.
We're looking forward to our next trip to Doctor Mora!
