Friends and family arrived at Colter's horse barn by 5:30 on Branding Day. They saddled and loaded their horses to caravan to our house, in trucks pulling horse trailers. We watched from our driveway to see five trucks coming across the ridge. Within five or six minutes, they were coming up the hill, then making the turn toward our house. We readied baskets of muffins for everyone. Once parked, they quickly unloaded their horses, got a muffin, and started up the mountain.
