Papa and I went to the dentist in Nogales yesterday. Nogales is 60 miles south of Tucson.
We stopped in Tubac for lunch at Elvira's. We drove to our favorite place to park, near McDonald's,
a block from the border. We walked across and easily found the dentist's office. We walked another block over to Obregron Street, where we have shopped many times over the years. The street and sidewalks have been completely redone, but at least two thirds of the businesses are shuttered. The global economy and the changes in US border crossing policy have dealt a tough blow to the Mexican side of Nogales. Our dental experience was positive, with clean facilities, a young competent female dentist, and state of the art equipment. The price...$45 for cleaning and exam!
