Willcox has an annual ranch rodeo, with local ranch cowboys competing in three different events. Over the past 11 years, we've gotten to know several ranching families, so we enjoyed going yesterday to see this year's event. Colter competed on the Warbonnet Ranch team, along with his dad, granddad, and his brother. Three Links Ranch had a team, GBar Ranch, and there were seven other teams. It was a dusty afternoon and fun to watch the cowboys competing with each other.
Unfortunately, in the last event, Colter had an accident and was badly injured. He was taken to Tucson by ambulance and is in the hospital, hoping to have surgery this morning, on his leg with a broken tibula and fibula. He is fortunate to have a large support system, with so much family nearby and wonderful friends ready to help. We are hopeful he makes a full recovery and quickly!
