This afternoon, Papa and I attended the final competition of the Beeston International Guitar Festival on the campus of the University of Arizona. UofA has one of the best classical guitar programs in the world. The finalists in the competition were all male and from Brazil, Chile, the US, and Mexico. Each guitarist played about 15 minutes. Each of them was talented but they seemed to get better and better. The last performance was by a guitarist from Hermosillo, Mexico. He was superb and he won the competition.
