Buck Knob is the big hill we see when we look out the south facing windows of our living room. Buck Knob is visible from miles around and is easily spotted from the air. Yesterday afternoon, we hiked to Buck Knob
and made an interesting find. On top, under a pile of rocks, we
found a jar with papers and pencils inside. Others have "signed in"
since 1987. Strange that we never noticed the jar before, but we signed
in this time! There is a survey marker on top too, dated 1946. Buck Knob gives a "top of the world" feeling as there are beautiful vistas in every direction. We climbed under the fence, hiked down Buck Knob, up another ridge, and back home. It was a good 3 hour hike!
