Papa flew to Florida to spend a few days at the beach with Audrey, Lauren, and me, after our girls weekend. He was gone from the ranch for a week. The horses were grazing on the ranch while he was away, with plenty to eat. On most evenings, when Papa is on the ranch, he goes down to the corral and gives each of them a flake of hay and a sugar cube. When we got back to the ranch on Monday afternoon, the horses were so miffed that Papa had been gone for a week, that they didn't come to the corral. They came on Tuesday afternoon, and with a bit of coaxing, they followed Papa into the corral for their evening meal of hay. They play a game with each other when Papa drops the hay into the feeders. They act as if the other horses are getting more or better hay, so they play a bit of musical feeders. And then when settled down, each of them loves their "Papa pats."
