On Monday afternoon of this week, Margaret and I went to Ted DeGrazia's Gallery in the Sun, http://degrazia.org/. We arrived after the main galleries had closed, but we walked about the grounds and the chapel near the entrance. Gallery in the Sun is just north of the apartment where I lived when I first moved to Tucson in 1979. Ted DeGrazia's art always brings a smile to my heart.

Childhood Friend Visits the Ranch
It was a real treat for me to reconnect with my friend, Margaret. We went to church together, and school from 6th grade through senior year. I was also friends with her recently deceased husband. We have decades old shared memories and many of the same long time friends. We had a good week and we made new memories, on the ranch, at the Albuquerque Balloon Festival, in Santa Fe, and in Tucson.
Saguaro National Park
Margaret and I drove south from Santa Fe, on Sunday morning. We stopped in
Truth or Consequences at the Sierra Grande for a hot springs soak.
We drove on to Tucson on Sunday evening. We were up early on Monday morning,
for a drive through Saguaro National Park. We hiked to Signal Hill to see the petroglyphs.

We visited San Xavier del Bac Mission before circling back home for lunch. A really good day!

Santa Fe
After the Balloon Festival, Margaret and I drove to Santa Fe. We had lunch on the Plaza, then went to the Georgia O'Keefe Museum plus the New Mexico Art Museum. We walked all about downtown, checking out two small art festivals and cathedrals, and then back to our hotel. We splurged and had dessert for dinner at Inn at Loretto. We stayed at my favorite Santa Fe hotel, Inn on the Almeda.

Albuquerque Balloon Festival
Margaret and I left the ranch on Friday morning and drove to Albuquerque. We took a small detour and drove through Bosque del Apache, looking for birds, but saw none. We stopped
in San Antonio, NM for lunch at Buckhorn Tavern, for a famous chili burger.
We stayed overnight in Albuquerque, and were up at 3:30 on Saturday, to go to the Balloon Festival. The Balloon Festival was amazing! The spectators are part of the festival, on the same field as the balloons. Five hundred fifty hot air balloons ascended within an hour and a half!
