Along the Road

Papa has done some roadwork this week.  I hiked along the road to Red Rock Canyon. 

Desert Evening Primrose

A couple of weeks ago, I hiked down to the Rock House in the early morning and saw a plant covered with big white flowers.  Yesterday morning, I went for a hike, armed with my camera, and was lucky to find open flowers on the Desert Evening Primrose.  Delicate and beautiful!

Gambel's Quail Eggs

There is a Gambel's Quail nest near our back gate, at the Tucson house.  I startled the mother quail, when I opened the gate a couple of days ago.  She was so flustered that she flew up and into 

our dining room window.  Her behavior caused us to look under the bush where she was hiding.  Voila!  A nest full of eggs.  I hope she is able to protect the eggs until ready for hatching, 

as Gambel's Quail babies are the cutest ever.

Biscotti Party

On Saturday, Papa and I went to Phoenix for a biscotti party at Mary's house.  

Regina, the owner/chef from Sweet Italiano, led us through the process of making biscotti.  

She topped it off by serving the biscotti we made, with espresso.  Yum!

Happy Spring

Happy Spring!  Papa and I enjoyed seeing signs of spring all over our Tucson neighborhood 

this morning.  I hope you enjoy spring wherever you are.

Won't You Be My Neighbor?

When our girls were very young, I would let them watch Mr. Rogers on tv after their naps.  

They thought Mr. Rogers lived in the tv and was their friend.

On our way to Tucson yesterday morning, we passed a billboard with a photo of Mr. Rogers and the words, "Won't you be my neighbor?  Friendship.  Pass it on."  

The Missing

Papa and I don't watch a lot of tv, but we have a few favorite shows.  A recent favorite is 

"The Missing."  It is filmed in various places in Europe and is fast paced, with intrigue, 

international spies.  It reminds us of a trilogy of favorite movies, The Bourne Identity, The Bourne Supremacy, and The Bourne Ultimatum. 

Blurb Book

I have spent the past two days working on a Blurb photo book of our trip to France last fall.  As I have over 1400 photos from the trip, fitting them into a printed book is no easy task.  I'm up to 92 pages, with several more days of the trip to cover.  Looking through all the photos has been a reminder of what a wonderful trip we had.  We loved the trip!

Indian Paintbrush

Papa did a little fence work at Schilling yesterday, so I hiked over to meet him.  It was a beautiful day on the ranch, and I saw the first blooms of Indian paintbrush.  A herd of deer was standing on top of a dirt tank near the road.  They bolted as I got close. 

Saturday Afternoon Hike

Papa and I hiked from our house to our ranch gate on Saturday afternoon.  It was a beautiful afternoon, with clear blue skies and a light breeze.  We enjoy our views in every direction.
